The show the Bachelorette pretty much advocates STDs and a polyamourous lifestyle. It’s like before the eyes of America, you test out as many men as the network will throw at you, to decide which one you are going to pretend to fall in love with and pretend to date for a year because it’s all written in your contract that you had to sign the job to be the next piece of ass who basically whores herself out on TV by hooking up with differnent dudes everynight while they sit and wait around for her to decide if they are worthy, like a bunch of assholes. Seems like a good enough concept for a show and here is the star in her bikini.

Yesterday word came that NBC had settled a civil lawsuit brought by the sister of Dallas prosecutor Louis William Conradt Jr., who killed himself when police and Dateline’s Chris Hansen, along with a camera crew, showed up at his home when he failed to show up for his fake date with a little boy in November 2006. But don’t go poking around Dateline’s website to brush up on the incident — NBC has all but scrubbed it clean of that entire Perverted Justice investigation.

The website does provide transcripts and videos from the 11 other "Predator" investigations that "Dateline" did around the country, beginning in 2004. The list of stings on the site includes a brief reference to the one in Murphy, noting that 25 men were snared there by "Dateline's" hidden cameras. But no other information is provided.

A blog posting about Conradt's suicide written by correspondent Chris Hansen is no longer available. Neither is a statement from NBC News called "Setting the Record Straight," in which the news division rebutted a September investigation by ABC's "20/20" into the controversial events.

Two likely scenarios: 1) The settlement agreement with Conradt’s sister included a clause that required NBC to pull all references of him (and, likely, never air his segment), but since the terms are confidential, it’s likely we’ll never know; or 2) NBC is doing everything in its power to avoid any further damage done from a program that was heralded ratings king and quickly became a public relations nightmare.

This week MTV announced it was repealing its policy against accepting political advertisements, with the stipulation any spots they accept must come from candidates or their parties, and not those sleazy 527 groups. Barack Obama is said to be first in line with an ad buy — but a report from 2006 says another senator already beat him to it.

Rick Santorum, one of America’s most famous publicly elected homophobes, was said to have bought ads on MTV in the fall of 2006 when he was gearing up for his re-election campaign. The ads were a companion to his new homepage RSiteonline.com (no longer online). As Hotline reported in October 2006, “the flash site boasts pseudo-news segments featuring two Pennsylvania College Republicans discussing opponent ‘Bobby Casey Jr’s’ track record on issues such as attendance and immigration. Shorter versions of the spots will appear as spots on MTV. It’s an interesting strategy to try to close the loop between YouTube and the Boob Tube crowds. Total communication integration results in a sum greater than its parts because it drives more traffic to the Web site. But in terms of actually getting young voters to the polls, it’s a tough call for advertising on MTV. Plus the average age of the station’s voters is just over 21, and while known for being politically active, the youngins’ are completely unreliable at the polls. Nevertheless, it’s the first effort to reach the YouTube generation on multiple media fronts.”

So either: Santorum actually did buy airtime on MTV in ‘06, or his campaign merely said it was planning to do so, but was then rebuffed by the network, which at the time refused such ads. An, in that case, maybe it was Santorum who got Santorum’d.
