Robert Downey Jr. is set to star in Sherlock Holmes, directed by Guy Ritchie, Madonna’s husband.

The Iron Man star’s interpretation of the the classic character will be based on an upcoming comicbook from producer Lionel Wigram which portrays Holmes as more adventurous, combining his intellectual and physical abilities.

Sherlock Holmes is set to start production this fall. Another Sherlock Holmes movie is set to star Sacha Baron Cohen as the pipe-smoking sleuth and Will Ferrell as his assistant, Watson.

Downey reportedly came onto the project via his wife, Susan, who works for one of the film’s producers, Joel Silver.

Josh Hartnett shows up outside of the screening of his new film August at the Tribeca Grand Hotel in New York City on Wednesday.

August focuses on two brothers, ambitious dot-com entrepreneurs attempting to keep their company afloat as the stock market begins to collapse in August 2001, one month prior to the 9/11 attacks.

The film first debuted at the 2008 Sundance Film Festival.

Josh, 29, is currently filming Bunraku, where he plays a lone drifter who comes to town seeking revenge, but soon finds himself up against a bigger challenge than he originally planned.

Hannah Montana star Miley Cyrus films a new music video on the beaches of Malibu on Wednesday.

The 15-year-old teen star shot scenes of her falling from the life guard stand into the arms of adoring men and was carried around on a surf board. Miley was picked up and and surrounded with an entourage with guys holding up surfboards all around her.

The Teen Choice Awards, which will take place on Aug. 4, will feature Miley, and says on their website “Make sure your voice is heard! Vote everyday!”

Courteney Cox has reportedly agreed to guest star on Scrubs for a three-episode arc.

The former Friends star will play the new chief of medicine at Sacred Heart, reports EW. Cox’s character on the NBC sitcom will supposedly, “ruffle feathers.”

This follows an announcement that Courteney’s own show Dirt had been recently been canceled by FX. The series was executive produced by the 44-year-old actress and her hubby, David Arquette.

The second season came to a halt due to the Writers Guild of America strike, and its ratings did not improve much from the first season.

Victoria Beckham holds hands with her youngest son, Cruz, 3, while passing through London’s Heathrow airport after a flight from Los Angeles on Tuesday. Accompanying the mother-son pair was one of her other sons, Romeo, 5.

It’s been reported that a theater company in Dublin, Ireland is developing a musical about the life of Victoria and her soccer star husband David Beckham.

The show is tentatively titled MacBecks and the show director calls it “wild comedy romp,” poking fun at the Beckhams. According to reports, Posh will be portrayed as an ambitious Lady Macbeth for whom husband Becks sacrifices his career.

"We're very excited by the script,” says Ronan Smith of Long Road Productions, which is behind the staging of the satirical sing-song affair. “It borrows from Shakespeare's Macbeth, King Lear and Romeo & Juliet.”

Sarah Larson is still on good terms with her ex, George Clooney. She opens up to Britian’s Hello! magazine about her relationship, which ended back in May. Here are the highlights from Larson’s interview:

On not having any regrets in her relationship with Clooney: “George is a great guy, a wonderful person. I don’t regret spending time with him. We still remain friends and have kept in touch. In fact, we spoke over the phone a couple of days ago.”

On what she’s taken away from the one-year relationship with him: “Most people know George has a great sense of humor and is an adept storyteller. But I will always love his extraordinary dance moves.”

On her current relationship status: “I have two men in my life right now. They’re very dark and have lots of hair and weigh 15 lbs.”

On Clooney opening up a lot of doors for her: “I have a lot of great opportunities, doors that have opened, and I have no complaints. I make good money. I have a house. I have all the things I’ve always wanted. I’m in a good place. I’ve had some amazing offers come in, including one modeling campaign that may bring me to England soon. I can’t talk about it yet because it’s not a done deal. I hope it happens because I’ve never been to England and I’d love to spend some time there. If I do end up there I could find a nice British boy. I’d be open to the idea. I hear they have a good sense of humor.”

The 32-year-old actress picked up a few items at a fashion shop and homewares emporium, Aimé boutique.

Reese is currently in the British capital while boyfriend Jake Gyllenhaal prepares to film the movie, Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time.

Last night, Gyllenspoon dined together at Scott's seafood restaurant.
