Canadian hottie Ryan Reynolds (in a new pair of specs) films scenes from his upcoming movie Fireflies in the Garden in Austin, Texas on Tuesday.

Other co-stars include Julia Roberts, Heroes‘ Hayden Panettiere, Fantastic Four’s Ioan Gruffudd, The Matrix’s Carrie-Anne Moss, Willem Dafoe, Emily Watson, and Shannon Lucio (she was also on set with Ryan yesterday wearing a white blazer, purple skirt and black flats).

This will be Dennis Lee’s directorial debut from a screenplay he wrote. The semi-autobiographical story is loosely based on Lee’s life and explores the complexities of love and commitment in a family torn apart when faced with an unexpected tragedy.

Fireflies in the Garden is set for a 2008 release.

9.8 million people tuned in to watch Navy lieutenant and Ironman triathlete Andy Baldwin give the the show its biggest premiere since 2004. This season also scored 19% better than fall’s The Bachelor: Rome adults 18-49 rating.

On Tuesday, Tara, 31, was spotted at the airport, catching a flight home with friends. Tara and her posse were flanked by security guards the whole time.

Driving through Sunset Plaza last week, we spotted Tara Reid outside of her new restaurant that just opened up, Ketchup. She was in a red dress, and honestly didn’t look that bad from afar. Her new restaurant sells $25 sloppy joe’s and yahoo, it’s apparently supposed to be a big hit. I think I’ll take my chances at the 7-11 though!

Michael Jackson helps his daughter Paris Jackson celebrate her 9th birthday in Las Vegas on Tuesday.

Michael, Paris, sons Prince and Michael II, and a slew of bodyguards started the day at FAO Schwarz Toy Store at the Forum Shops in Caesars Palace. The store closed for over an hour so the family could go on a shopping spree. Check out that mob scene!

Afterwards they headed to the Wynn Hotel for lunch at “Wing Lei” Chinese Restaurant followed by a walk through the Wynn Shops where Michael, 48, stopped by the Rolex store to look at watches.

After their busy day shopping, the Jackson family returned home, where a party was thrown for the birthday girl, including a visit from Charlie the Clown.

It was rumored last week that Michael is looking to perform at an extended run show like Celine Dion’s in Las Vegas. He supposedly wants to build a 50-foot robot version of himself that will walk around the desert outside of the city and emit laser beams from its head. Zap, zap!
