Jamie Lynn Spears gave birth by C-section to a healthy baby girl named Maddie Briann Aldrige at 9:33 a.m. today at the Mississippi Southwest Regional Medical Center in McComb, Miss.
"Both mom and baby are doing great," an insider tells Life & Style. "Maddie is fair-skinned and has hair - not a lot, but some."

Britney Spears had such a publicized meltdown that it seemed the world knew every detail: her wild all-night partying, fights with her family, custody battles with ex-husband Kevin Federline over her baby boys and, finally, two hospitalizations in January for mental issues. The cameras captured it, her friends and family talked openly about it and court papers documented it.
But in an upcoming book, author Ian Halperin - an award-winning investigative journalist who has written biographies on Kurt Cobain, James Taylor and Céline Dion - makes a shocking new allegation about Britney: She tried to kill herself on two separate occasions.
Halperin includes reports of Britney's suicide attempts in his book, as well as disturbing new allegations of drug use. "I saw a lot," he tells Life & Style. "I partied with her and was able to really monitor what type of stuff she was using. It's very concerning."
While Britney's led a quieter, healthier life since her second hospitalization - when she was reportedly diagnosed with bipolar disorder - the author still believes her life is at risk. "I think she's in danger of a catastrophic relapse," he says. "Britney herself warned me that with her, it's always two steps forward, one step back."
A Spears family insider agrees that while Britney is much calmer than before, she's hardly cured. "She's on major medications," the insider explains. "And she's being micromanaged and controlled to the extreme by her parents, the courts and a huge team of doctors and handlers."

Nick Cannon worked on the set of wife Mariah Carey's video shoot for her single "I'll Be Lovin' U Long Time" in Oahu, Hawaii, on June 9. But instead of co-starring as Mariah's love interest, Nick, 27, assisted the pop star between takes.
Some close to the couple fear Nick's subservient status is a sign the couple's union is headed for trouble. "I give the marriage six months, tops," reveals an insider close to Mariah. "I can't see it lasting."

During an afternoon outing on June 4, Nicole Richie and Joel Madden should have been enjoying some quiet mommy-daddy time away from their 6-month-old daughter, Harlow. Instead, an onlooker tells Life & Style, the two were embroiled in a huge argument. Nicole, 26, "seemed upset about something Joel had done the night before," the onlooker explains.
Although a rep for Nicole denies any blowup, the onlooker claims the couple didn't hide their fight: "All the other guests saw it. It was really uncomfortable."

As a mom of four young children - and soon to be six - Angelina Jolie seems like a totally different person from the wild 24-year-old who married actor Billy Bob Thornton in a quickie Las Vegas wedding in May 2000. But she doesn't sound so different.
"I still love him dearly and think the world of him, and I'm proud to have been his wife for a time," Angelina, 33, said recently. Asked if she regrets anything about her time with Billy Bob, she replied, "I don't believe in regrets."

With its trendy restaurants and hot clubs, NYC can be the most exciting place on the planet - and it's no different for Katie Holmes. Before her last trip to the Big Apple for her new play, All My Sons, she was especially thrilled. With hubby Tom Cruise and daughter Suri, 2, in LA, the trip marked Katie's first real taste of freedom in ages.
"She loves her family, but she was looking forward to having a little space and independence," says an insider close to the actress. But by the time she actually got to NYC, all she appeared to do during her stay was travel between her hotel and the midtown theater where she was rehearsing.
So why did the formerly full-of-life star now seem so disheartened? One insider points the finger at Tom, 45, claiming he's back to his old habit of trying to control Katie's life. Tom's decided to get a place in New York City so he and Suri can be by Katie's side nearly all the time, the insider says. But far from being touched by his decision, Katie's feeling suffocated.
These days, Katie's having a harder and harder time putting on a happy face. At the couple's housewarming party at their new LA mansion, Katie looked annoyed, says a witness - and the tension between her and Tom was obvious. Says the insider, "Katie tried to smile and have a good time, but she's really upset with Tom these days."

With just weeks to go before she's due to give birth to twins, Angelina Jolie has finally put a stop to her jet-setting ways. While Angelina tries to relax at home at Chateau Miraval, the French estate she and Brad Pitt are living in, "the doctor is checking up on Angie every day," the insider says.
But one person has seemed a little less attentive lately. On June 3 - the day before Angelina's 33rd birthday - Brad, 44, was in Switzerland, for the international art show Design Miami/Basel.

Jessica Alba and husband Cash Warren welcomed their first child, Honor Marie Warren, in LA on June 7. "Jessica and Cash chose that name because they both agreed that honor was the most important value they could instill in their little girl," says an insider.
Cash was in the delivery room when his wife, 27, gave birth. "Cash says Honor looks a lot like Jessica, with a caramel-color complexion and dark hair," says the insider.
