Even Jessica Simpson had a feeling it was too good to be true. While gushing about her romance with football player Tony Romo in the June issue of Glamour, in an interview conducted two months ago, Jess admitted, "I'm in love. Big-time." But she also seemed to hedge her bets: "This article could come out...and Tony and I could be broken up." Turns out, she had reason to be concerned. Jessica, 27, and Tony, 28, are spending time apart after just six months of dating, says a friend of Tony's. Talk of trouble arose on May 10, when Tony and a group of pals were spotted partying it up in Chicago. As it turns out, the trip may have been more than just a guys' getaway - it could have been Tony's way of coping with the breakup. After arriving at hot spot Uncle Fatty's Rum Resort, Tony, the Dallas Cowboys' starting quarterback, told his buddies that he and Jessica had split. "He let us know they'd broken up and that was that," a friend of Tony's says, adding that Tony didn't give a reason. "We're guys, so we didn't talk about it much." They're not over yet, another insider insists before conceding, "They're definitely going through a rough spot." A witness says that Jess was flirting heavily with former suitor Zach Braff at a May 2 party honoring Diddy in LA. "Right now it's touch and go," the insider says.
