Talk show titan Oprah Winfrey is hurt that her estranged father is ca$hing in on her fame to write a tell-all book about the never married multi millionaire.

Mama O is "shocked" and "disappointed" that she had to find out about the book from the New York Daily News and not her father himself.

Winfrey said she laughed recently when "one of my assistants said, 'The Daily News is calling. They say they heard your father is writing a book about you.' I said, 'That's impossible. I can assure them it's not true.'

"But then my sister said, 'I think you should call your father.' I called him and it turned out he is writing a book. The worst part of it was him saying, 'I meant to tell you I've been working on it.'"

Winfrey, 53, confided, "I was upset. I won't say 'devastated,' but I was stunned."
"The last person in the world to be doing a book about me is Vernon Winfrey," she added. "The last person."

Oprah's dad plans to call his book, Things Unspoken.

Ever the diplomat, Winfrey tried to smooth the situation with her dad over by saying, "I have a good relationship with him. We talk, we talk, we talk. I would have preferred to have known my father was working on this. It would have been a nice gesture, a courtesy."

In addition to her father, noted biographer Kitty Kelley is also working on a book about Oprah.

"I'm not cooperating with it, but if she wants to write a book, fine. This is America. I'm not discouraging it or encouraging it," says Winfrey.

Ann Curry: So if I asked you, for example, right now what's something that's untrue that you would like to say right now is not true, you wouldn't know what was untrue that was written about you?

Angelina Jolie: No.

No. I mean, I can assume. You know, I know there's a cycle of certain things that they keep rewriting or whatever, but I can - and I can assume things made up. But - but, no, I haven't - I haven't a clue. You know? I - (LAUGHTER) and - and why - why would I, you know? There's nothing - there's nothing I have to hide or defend. Or - you know, I'm gonna live my life. And there are gonna be times when people wanna try to attack me and I don't know why, but they will. And that's okay. And this-

It's okay?

Well, there are other things I'm more concerned about. My kids are healthy. I have a lot I want to do in this world. Before I do, I wanna do a lot of things as a woman, as a mom, and - and that's my focus. At the end of the day, I'm gonna - I'm gonna be dead one day. And what people say about me is gonna be what I accomplished and what I did in my life and how my children are. And I don't think it's gonna be whatever was...
