On his filming two trilogies back-to-back:
"I've been white-knuckling it for so long. Between the first Lord of the Rings and this [Pirates of the Caribbean: At World's End], I've been going nonstop. I would come off one movie and straightaway start the next picture. I wasn't even really thinking about it, I was letting the machinery sort of run me. So now, on a personal level, I just want some time and space from everything, from all that; from the environment and the phone and the communication."

On turning 30 in January and for the first time in a decade having nothing to do:
"Look, it all felt important, too important, but now I'm in a position to--look, I'm trying not to take myself so seriously, and in not taking myself so seriously, I think I'll be more serious."

On learning at 13 that his dad was not his biological father:

On his career:
"I have the patience to trust my own journey. Life is going to unfold as it should because life always does. If I'm true to myself, then all the rest is like, fuck it, man."

On being a Buddhist:
"The philosophy that I've embraced isn't about sitting under a tree and studying my navel, it's about studying what is going on in my daily life and using that as fuel to go and live a bigger life. When your girlfriend dumps you, when the bill comes through the door, and your mom calls you and tells you she can't handle the stuff in her life--that's hell, but that's just one world. If you are aware of what is going on, then you can grow and use that hunger, that fear."

On spending three weeks aboard a Norwegian icebreaker bound for Antarctica:
"I felt isolated and vulnerable and I just had all this time to think. I just had time to read and think and I figured out that this moment, now, is when I can use everything that I've done to my advantage, to choose a great project, to do something great and take a risk. I'm looking around and going, I cannot fucking believe how lucky I've been--Pirates has afforded me the luxury of choice, and with those choices comes responsibility but also freedom. I can figure out exactly what I want to do."

On the downside of being in Pirates of the Caribbean:
"There really is no downside, I've got to tell you. It's put me in a position where I can wait and see what happens and now figure out what I really want to do."

A massive shooting at Virginia Tech has left at least 21 people dead today.

And, just as many - if not more - were wounded as the madman (who is now dead) opened fire in a dorm and classroom, making this the worst school shooting in U.S. history.

Words fail us.

This is just.....so hideous.

Our condolences to everyone affected by this senseless tragedy.

John Mayer and Jessica Simpson took a little trip this past weekend to romantical Santa Barbara.

Hey Perez,

I saw Jessica Simpson and John Mayer in Santa Barbara on April 16th. They were shopping on State St. I got to meet them and John was extremely nice. He agreed to take a picture with my friend and I along with Jessica. When I asked the guy at the store to take a picture of us, the employee sort of gave my friend and I a dirty look but then john said "No, its totally alright they can take a picture its no problem." He was very kind and not stuck up. Attached to this message I have a picture of us. Please, if you do decide to post this picture don't take what I said out of context they really were gracious. Thanks.

Lily Allen has cancelled over 20 upcoming shows in North America, The Mirror is reporting.

The lovesick Brit is said to miss her friends and man too much and doesn't have the desire or energy to commit to those previously scheduled gigs.

Marilyn Manson is in love with a teenager, and he wants the world to know about it!

The rocker, 38, started having an affair with actress/homewrecker Evan Rachel Wood, 19, while he was still married to Dita Von Teese.

Manson and Wood remained mum about their relationship for a while, but now that he's got a new album coming out soon he's ready to whore out his whore for some press.

"I've found my double, my twin, with my new girlfriend, Evan Rachel Wood," Manson tells France's Le Parisien newspaper.  "She's l9 and certainly that's very young," he added, "but that's not a problem for me. She likes the same things as me. She understands I like to get up when night falls and go to sleep at dawn."

They must be on the same drug cycle. Uppers to get you up and downers to help you sleep!

Pills and powders and everything in between.

Of his relationship with Von Teese, the rocker says, "Our relationship ended at Halloween. I was completely destroyed psychologically. I'd rented a house and begun working on this disc, which sort of tells everything that happened to me during the past year. I was married to someone who wanted me to change. Become more adult, more responsible. I began not to like myself, not like what I do. I lost my identity. Everything began collapsing around me. The record allowed me to put an end to that. Dita left at Christmas while I was recording."

Wood may be 19 now, but eventually she'll grow up.

The svengali that began the Bakcstreet Boys and 'Nsync is on the run after stealing from senior citizens.

How fucked up is that?

Pearlman's whearabouts are currently unknown.

Through his deceitful ways, he swindled people out of $317 million and, more surprisingly, bilked banks out of an additional $150 million in a classic pyramid investing scheme.

"I lost everything," said John Spears, an 80-year-old, wheelchair-bound veteran who invested his life savings, some $200,000, in what he was led to believe was an insured interest-bearing savings fund.

So sad.
