With their fiftieth anniversary a little over a year away, the National Academy of Recording Arts and Sciences took last night's big "Special Announcement" ceremony as an opportunity to deal with some unfinished business. To be perfectly honest, the ceremony itself was a bit of an eye-roller - after all, the big news was that the Grammys would be taking place (hardly news after forty-nine years!), that Quincy Jones would be the official ambassador of the 50th anniversary celebration (admittedly pretty cool - X17 yields to no blog when it comes to appreciating Q's work on Off The Wall!) and that Joss Stone would be receiving the award she'd won for R&B Performance earlier this year. Still, we're happy for Joss - and eager to see what everyone wears to the Grammys' big Five-Oh!
After a full day of shopping, Eva met her in-laws-to-be for dinner last night in Paris. Tony's mother rolled up to the restaurant in a camper-van (?), wearing a cowboy hat (??), to meet Eva and Tony's just-as-tall twin brother!
Carmen was in Westwood yesterday, to sign copies of her new book "How to Be Sexy." Who knew the one-time Prince protege, Baywatch Babe, Pussycat Doll and striptease instructor also knew how to write!
Well, these are just three of the final four, but we can't help it if Laila Ali never goes to Parc! The judges have judged, the viewers have voted and now we're down to the semi-finals of Dancing With the Stars! It was sad to see Karina go, but Billy Ray didn't deserve to beat out any of the others. Joey being in the bottom two last night was definitely a shock, but after that setback, I think he'll come back next week stronger than ever!
We couldn't help but notice the way Britney's demeanor towards our cameramen when she went in compared to the exhausted, camera-shy affect she adopted on her exit. Britney's fondness for X17 is pretty

Yesterday, in between meetings, appointments and more meetings, we were surprised to find that not only was Paris driving (against her lawyer's recommendations), but that she was texting ex-fiancee Paris Latsis to arrange a secret rendez-vous! We got a good look at the message, which says "Hey babe, I?m getting followed by a billion paparazzi, il come after the meeting at 4 and try to lose them." Forty-five days can be a long time for a girl as, er, 
Britney took son Sean along to work today -- to a dance class (still rehearsals?) at Millennium in North Hollywood. So here are my observations:
1. Little Sean is damn cute and Britney looks SO happy to have him in her arms.
and
2. Why is Britney still at the studio if all of her performances are over? Not that she can't just be going to a dance class, but could it be true that she still has more upcoming concerts?

Apparently last night was Courteney Cox and David Arquette's regular face-to-face with the celebrity press, as the quiet couple made their near-monthly visit to Il Sole for dinner and adulation from the paps. Of course, with Courteney's series Dirt (and David's, too - can't forget his executive producer credit!) recently being renewed for a second season, the couple should be able to afford plenty of similar outings in the future!
