Simon had plenty to say on the subject of American Idol as well as celebutante idol Paris Hilton's arrest when we saw him outside of his favorite lunch spot - The Ivy - yesterday. While most people would probably call out Melinda Doolittle as a front-runner, you may be surprised to hear who he thinks will win, especially given the contestants poor performance in recent weeks! He then got into his vintage Morgan before voicing his support for Paris Hilton (whom he describes as ?a tough cookie? and points out that ?there are a lot worse crimes in the world?) - although when we asked him to judge her singing, he professed not to have heard any of her album. We're a little stumped as to how ?Stars Are Blind? slipped by him!

Lucky us! The diminuitive star of under-performing drama Lucky You spent some time with a yoga-pants clad friend in Hollywood yesterday, perhaps trying to keep her mind off the dismal BO performance of her latest release!
Last night may have been a time for reconciliation for the Hilton family, but it was also a night for remembrance, as the Hilton sisters set off for Paramount Studios to attend Robert Shapiro's Sober USA party, a benefit for the Brent Shapiro Foundation for Drug Awareness. Of course, Paris' date for the night was freshly-rehired manager Elliot Mintz, who showed up early at the Hilton estate presumably in a further effort to make nice with his most famous client. Nicky and David Katzenberg arrived a little later in typically silent fashion.
From there, it was off to the studio lot to attend the party, where one of our insiders shot some video of Paris bending Shapiro's ear. Paris and Shapiro's son Brent went way back before Brent's tragic death from an overdose in 2005, so Paris' appearance at the party probably wasn't as socially motivated as usual. Still - given her high-profile troubles with the law, we can't help but wonder if Paris might have been pressing the former Dream Teamer for legal advice!
Back in LA after her whirlwind two-state 
Paris spent what might be her last days of freedom shopping on Sunset Plaza and consorting with lesser reality stars at Pinkberry! Dressed all in white (a subtle hint at her innocence?), Paris first hit up the Virgin Megastore where she picked up a couple of Gwen Stefani dolls. Is she stocking up on valuable items to trade for a carton of ciggies or a shiv at Century Regional Detention Facility?
Then she hit Catherine Malandrino at the Sunset Plaza before stopping by the place that launched the current fro-yo craze (which Paris helped publicize, btw), Pinkberry!
Paris ran into D-Listers Janice Dickinson and Bobby Trendy at Pinkberry, both who had plenty to say (on-camera, of course) on the subject of Paris! Janice was seen whispering something in Paris? ear before chastising the paparazzi to leave Paris alone while simultaneously angling for some camera time of her own. Bobby Trendy predicted that she wouldn?t even go to jail, at least not for more than an hour, like Zsa Zsa Gabor or ?that girl from Grey's Anatomy.? Did he mean Michelle Rodriguez from Lost?
Paris looked very solemn the entire day, and when she went back home, we asked her if she planned to appeal the judge?s decision but she didn?t answer. Chin up, Paris - even if we can't help cracking a few jokes, we're all pulling for you!
